Click here I am glad I could help! It has been a pleasure working with you. Here is a picture of a cooling system pressure checker. likely to be inside the crank case inside the combustion chamber. If it leaks down but there are no external leaks in the system, this is most likely caused by an internal coolant leak. Your best bet is to get the cooling system pressure checked using a cooling system pressure checker. possibly with the coolant mixture you re talking about. If not, you could have incorrect valve timing or a flooding condition. Also, if the engine has spark when cranking it over, see if it runs on starting fluid. You are going to have to check to be sure that the oil and coolant are not mixing with each other. if the spark plugs have coolant on them even after they were cleaned off or replaced after doing this cylinder head gasket job, then you have coolant leaking into the combustion chamber for some reason. whats happened to my car? Submitted: 9 years ago. but now when i try to start it you can hear the starter spinning away but thats it. i noticed what seemed to be coolant on the spark plugs when i changed them and one spark plug looked to be shorted out kinda. so i figured that was it so i started driving my car for about 45 min and it started to over heat again only this time it stopped accelerating and when i pulled off the side of the road it died and now it wont start at all i have replaced the head gasket i have replaced the thermostat and the spark plugs and lines. so i did that and the bubbling had stopped. There are other great small cars out there such as the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, but when it comes to pure driving excitement and small car value and reliability, the Mazda Protege (particularly the ES & MazdaSpeed version), there is hardly any competition out there in the small car market. This is about a 2002 mazda protege i was driving and my car started to over heat so i pulled off the road and noticed the over flow for the coolant was bubbling so i went to autozone to see what they thought they said i blew a head gasket or i have air in the system and to figure it out i wask to park on a hill take my radiator cap off and run the car for about 20 min. Other than that, my Protege ES is a blast to drive. The only bad part about my car is that it does produce wind and tire noise at higher speeds. When you look at the Civic and Jetta, some of those features are either extra cost or not available, and both cars are still more expensive than the Protege. What made me choose the Protege ES was the standard features that came with the car such as a 2.0 liter DOHC engine, 16 inch alloy wheels, a CD player, a rear spoiler, and an optional automatic transmission with manual shift mode. One thing that surprised me the most was that it is also a great value for the money.īefore buying the Protege, I was also looking at other similar cars such as the Honda Civic and Volkswagen Jetta. It also handles like a more expensive European Sports Sedan. My Mazda Protege ES is one of the best small cars on the road. ![]()
